How do I set default apps in Windows 10?

1. Press the Windows logo Key

and "I" (as in Icon) on your keyboard, this will open the settings menu or search for settings from search and press Enter or click on the app settings insignia.

2. Look for "Apps", then click or tap on it.

3. Select "Default Apps" from the left pane.

4. Click on Paint

5. Select Photos from the drop down menu

6. After you select Photos, you can click away from the drop down window and your default photo viewer will change from Paint to Photos

To change .pdf to Adobe follow the steps below.

1. Scroll to bottom of the Default apps window
2. Choose default apps by file type ...wait for it!
3. Find PDF by scrolling to it (123A-Z)
4. Click on current .pdf app
5. From the drop down menu select Adobe for the default .pdf program to view pdfs

The change is instant and you may now close the Default Apps window. You can change any of your default applications using this method.
